What is My Therapeutic Approach?
My therapeutic approach integrates existential therapy, mindfulness practices, and strengths-based frameworks to help individuals and couples navigate complex relational dynamics. My practice is sex-positive, neurodiversity-affirming, and built around comprehensive coordinated care across individual and relational treatment providers.
Core Modalities and Frameworks
I utilize an integrative model that balances emotional depth with actionable structural tools.
| Therapeutic Framework | Clinical Purpose | Client Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Existential Therapy | Explores core questions of agency, responsibility, isolation, and personal meaning within relationship systems. | Fosters personal accountability, authentic choices, and deeper alignment with core values. |
| Mindfulness Techniques | Develops somatic awareness, emotional regulation, and non-judgmental present-moment grounding. | Reduces reactivity during high-conflict conversations and anxiety during intimacy. |
| Strengths-Based Lens | Identifies existing resilience, internal resources, and unique partner strengths. | Shifts therapy away from pathology toward collaborative problem-solving. |
What is Comprehensive Coordinated Care?
Comprehensive Coordinated Care is a collaborative treatment framework where I actively consult with individual therapists, medical providers, and care teams, if the client (or clients) approve. By proactively utilizing Releases of Information (ROIs), I ensure relational therapy aligns with and supports your existing individual treatment goals without contradicting or disrupting ongoing progress.
Key Benefits of Coordinated Relational Care
- Aligned Treatment Goals: Keeps individual and relationship therapists working toward complementary objectives.
- Reduced Relational Friction: Prevents relationship distress from stalling individual psychological growth.
- Integrated Care Teams: Supports parents, partners, and individual clients through unified professional collaboration.
My Core Practice Values
Neurodiversity-Affirming Care
I recognize executive dysfunction, sensory sensitivities, and differing communication styles as neurological variations rather than character flaws. My interventions focus on practical environmental accommodations and mutual understanding.
Sex-Positive and Culturally Competent Support
I provide affirmative therapy for ethical/consensual non-monogamy (ENM/CNM), polyamory, kink, and diverse sexual expressions. Along with a long personal history of supporting and working with sex-positive frameworks, I am pursuing advanced training through the AASECT certification track to ensure informed, non-judgmental support for desire discrepancies and intimacy navigation.
Structural Relationship Template and Relationship Mapping
When appropriate, I use a structured Relationship Structure Template to help couples and relationship systems define clear boundaries, roles, and expectations during key transitions. For ethical/consensual non-monogamous relationships, I may use a variant of the genogram called Relationship Mapping.
